Tamil Nadu General Sales Tax (Third, Amendment) Act, 1995*

An Act further to amend the Tamil Nadu General Sales Tax Act, 1959
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Forty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
* Received the assent of the Governor on the 6th July, 1995 and published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary.
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu General Sales Tax (Third, Amendment) Act, 1995.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of First Schedule.- In the First Schedule to the Tamil Nadu General Sales Tax Act, 1959 (Tamil Nadu Act ??? 1959), in PART-B, in item 21, for the entry in column (2), the following entry shall be substituted, namely:-
"All kinds of sewing thread whether natural or artificial (other than those falling under sub-item (a) of item 3 of the Second Schedule) but excluding surgical sewing threads.".
