An Act to validate the imposition of certain taxes by Municipal Committees in 2[Haryana].

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section 1. Short title

1. Short title.- (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Municipal (Tax validating) Act, 1956.

Section 2. Validation of taxes imposed by Municipal Committees

2. Validation of taxes imposed by Municipal Committees.- Notwithstanding anything contained in the Punjab Municipal Act, 1911, and any judgment, decree or order or Civil Court, the taxes imposed by the Municipal Committees specified in each case in the second column of the Schedule shall be deemed to have been legally imposed with effect from the date so specified in the third column of the Schedule and shall remain in force until repealed or amended by a competent authority.
