An Act further to amend the Kanam Tenancy Abolition Act, 1976
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Kanam Tenancy Abolition Act, 1976, for the purpose hereinafter appearing;
Be it enacted in the Thirty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Section 1. Short title and commencement
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Kanam Tenancy Abolition (Amendment) Act, 1980.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of January, 1970.
Section 2. Amendment of section 15
2. Amendment of section 15.- In section 15 of the Kanam Tenancy Aboliation Act, 1976 (16 of 1976) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in sub-section (2), for the figures "1979", the figures "1981" shall be substituted.
Section 3. Repeal and saving
3. Repeal and saving.- (1) The Kanam Tenancy Abolition (Amendment) Ordinance, 1980, is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act as amended by the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act as amended by this Act.
