Indian Stamp (Haryana Amendment) Act, 2000*

An Act further to amend the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, in its application to the State of Haryana.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Haryana in the Fifty-first Year of the Republic of India us follows:-
Section 1. Short title
1. Short title.- This Act may be called the Indian Stamp (Haryana Amendment) Act, 2000.
Section 2. Amendment of Schedule 1-A to Central Act 2 of 1899
2. Amendment of Schedule 1-A to Central Act 2 of 1899.- In Schedule 1-A to the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, for the existing article 55, the following article shall he substituted, namely:-

"55. Release, that is to say any instrument (not being such a release as is provided for by section 23-A) whereby any person renounces his interest, share, part or claim:-
|
|
|
(a) if the release is made of ancestral property in favour of brother or sister (children of renouncer's patents) or son or daughter or father or mother or spouse or grand children or nephew or ??? or coparcener of the renouncer;
|
Fifteen rupees.
|
|
(b) in any other case
|
The same duty as a Conveyance [No. 23(a) relating to sale of immovable-property] for the amount equal to the market value of the share, interest, part of claim renounced.".
