Gujarat Agricultural Produce Markets (Amendment) Act, 2006*

An Act further to amend the Gujarat Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1963.
It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Section 1. Short title
1. Short title.- (1) This Act may be called the Gujarat Agricultural Produce Markets (Amendment) Act, 2006.
Section 2. Amendment of section 2 of Guj. XX of 1964
2. Amendment of section 2 of Guj. XX of 1964.- In the Gujarat Agricultural Produce Markets Act, 1963 (Guj. XX of 1964) (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act"), in section 2, in clause (i), for the words, "agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry", the words "agriculture and horticulture" shall be substituted.
Section 3. Amendment of section 14 of Guj. XX of 1964
3. Amendment of section 14 of Guj. XX of 1964.- In the principal Act, in section 11, ill sub-section (1), in clause (i), for the brackets and words "(other than co-operative marketing societies)", the brackets and words "(other than co-operative marketing societies and milk produce co-operative societies)" shall be substituted.
Section 4. Amendment of schedule to Guj. XX of 1964
4. Amendment of schedule to Guj. XX of 1964.- In the principal Act, in the Schedule, the heading "IX. Animal Husbandry Products" and the items specified in entries (1) to (9) thereunder shall be deleted.
