Electricity (Supply) (Punjab Amendment) Act, 1961*

An Act to amend the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948 in its application to the State of Punjab.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Eleventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section 1. Short title and commencement

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Electricity (Supply) (Punjab Amendment) Act, 1961.

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 16th day of April, 1959.

Section 2. Amendment of section 27A of Central Act LIV of 1948

2. Amendment of section 27A of Central Act LIV of 1948.- In the explanation to section 27A of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948, in its application to the 1[territories specified in sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Punjab Re-organisation Act, 1985], item (v) shall he deleted tod items (vi), (vii) and (viii) shall be renumbered as items (v), (vi) and (vii) respectively.
