Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj (Third Amendment) Act, 1996*

An Act further to Amend the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994.

Be it enacted by the Legislation Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Forty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section 1. Short title and commencement

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj (Third Amendment) Act, 1996.

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on and from the 8th February, 1996.

Section 2. Amendment of section 74

2. Amendment of section 74.- In the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Act 13 of 1994), in section 74, for sub-section (4), the following shall be substituted, namely:-

"(4) All orders or cheques against the Gram Panchayat Fund shall be signed by such authority as may be prescribed."

Section 3. Repeal of Ordinance 13 of 1996

3. Repeal of Ordinance 13 of 1996.- The Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj (Fourth Amendment) Ordinance, 1996 is hereby repealed.
