Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Act, 1995*

An Act Further to Amend the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies Act, 1964.
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Forty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:
Section 1. Short title and commencement
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Act, 1995.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
Section 2. Amendment of Section 31
2. Amendment of Section 31.- In the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies Act, 1964 (Act 7 of 1964), in section 31, in sub-section (2), for clause (a), the following shall be substituted namely:-
"(a) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, the term of office of the committee or any of its members or of the President elected in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (5) shall be five years from the date of election of the members of the committee:
Provided that the term of office of five years specified in this clause shall be applicable only to a committee or its members or he President elected if any ordinary election conducted after the commencement of the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Act, 1995 and the form of office of any committee or its members or the President holding office at such nommencoment shall be the same for which they were elected moder the law in force when they were elected".
