An Act further to amend the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 and the Customs Act, 1962
Be it enacted by Parliament in the Forty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
CHAPTER 1 - PRELIMINARY
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Central Excises and Customs Laws (Amendment) Act, 1991.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
NOTE.-By Noti. No. S.O. 610(E), dated 19-9-1991, the Central Government appointed September 20, 1991 as the date on which this Act came into force.
