to repeal the Uttar Pradesh King George's University of Dental Sciences Act. 2004.

'iccP! Ak-W 3ITI1URuT tuld, 9 uic,q, 2007 IT IS HEREBY enacted in the Fifty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:— Short tide and I. (1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh King George's U niversity o
commencement Dental Science (Repeal) Act, 2007.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on June 2, 2007. Repeal of U.P. The Uttar Pradesh King George's University of Dental Science A ct, 2004 is
Act no. 11 of 2004 hereby repealed.
Transfer of assets Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the King George's
and liabilities Medical University Act, 2002 and on and from the date of repeal of the Act referred to
in section 2,—
the land around the King George's University of Dental Science and building of provincial Elygene Institute which is part of Medical Faculty and
properties and assets, including land, buildings, hostels, fumiture
s fittings,
all
fixtures, plants, machines, appliances, libraries, laboratory a
nd vehicles
after
belonging to the King George's University of Dental Science
(herein
referrea to the erstwhile University) shall stand transferred from t
he erstwhile
University to and vest in the King George's Medical University
thereinafter
referred to as the University);
all properties and assets pertaining to the erstwhile Univers
ity
uired or created out of grants from the State Government or whether acq
otherwise, including any cash balances held by the erstwhile Uni
versity or on
its accounts, whether as deposit in bank or otherwise, shall stand
transferred
from erstwhile University to and vest in the University;
all rights, powers and privileges, debts, duties, liabilities an
d
or
obligation of the erstwhile University, contractual or otherwis
e arising
accured or incurred in relation to the affairs of the erstwhile Un
iversity shall
stand transferred to the University;
(cl) all references in any will deed or other document whether m
ade or
executed before the date of repeal of the Act referred to in sect
ion 2, which
contains any bequest, gift, endowment or trust in favour of th
e erstwhile
University for the purposes of the Faculty of Dental Scienc
es shall be
le
construed as if the University was named therein instead of th
e erstwhi
University ;
(e) the erstwhile University shall become the Faculty of Dental Scien
ce
of the University;
(/) any student of the erstwhile University who was stu dying
ediately before the date. of repeal for any examination of the e rstwhile
imm
University shall continue his studies as a student of the Univers ity and shall
l be
be permitted to complete his courses in preparation therefore, and shal
admitted to the examination of the University;
(g) every teacher or other employee of the erstwhile. UniVersity du ly
and
appointed in connection with the affairs of the erstwhile Uni versity
serving therein immediately before the date of repeal shall, becom e a teacher
or other employee of the University ;
(7) all suits, appeals or other legal proceedings instituted by or a gainst
the erstwhile University and pending on the date of repeal, may b e continued,
prosecuted or enforced by or against the University.

2 e,2007 is herebyrepealed. of 200 7 'STATEMENT Of OBJECTS AND REASONS The Uttar Pradesh King George's University of Dental Science was established by the Uttar Pradesh King George's University of Dental Science Act, 2004 (UP. Act no. II of 2004) with the objective of developing it is an excellent institute' of Dental Science in the State equipped with modem instrument so as to provide proper treatment to the patients suffering from Dental diseases. After the establishment of the said University it was felt that the objectives for which the said Univetsity has been established were not being fulfilled. Such objectives may be fulfilled by making the Faculty of Dent& science remainedas a faculty of the Medical University. It was, therefore, decided to repeal the said Act and, transfer the University with its asset and liabilities including employees etc. to the _King George's Medical University as the faculty of Dental Science thereof
Since the State Legislature was not in session and immediate legislative action was necessary to implement the aforesaid decision the Uttar Pradesh King George's University of Dental Science (Repeal) Ordinance, 2007 (UP : Ordinance no. 2 of 2007) was promulgated by the GOvernar on June 2,2007. This Bill is. introduced to replace the aforesaid Ordinance ,
