4. Amendment of section 2.—-After clause (b) of sectionz of the princip al;
Act, the following new clause (bb) ,shali be inserted, nameiyiu

'(bb) "Vice-Chairman" means the Vice-Chairman of the Hill Areast Committee;'. V ' ' '
S. Substitution of section 3+For section 3 of the prihcieal Act, the folIoWing 1
shallbe substituted, namely,—

"3 Salaries and allowances of Chairman and Vice-Chairmanr—The

Chairman and the Vice-Chairman shall be paid such salary an d allowances as.
are provided for a Minister and a Minister of State respectively under the;
Salaries and Allowances of Minister (Manipur) Act, 1972.".

6. Amendmeht of section 4.—Iu section 4 of the principal Act, for the w ords",
"The Chairman and the members of his family", the words "
The Chairman. and
the ViceChairman and members of their families" sha ll be substituted.
I." Amendment of section 5.——In section 5 of the principal Act after the word
"Chairman", the words "and the Vice-Chairman" s hall be mserteu v
8. Substitution of section 6.——-For section 6 of the principal Ac t, the following
shall be substituted, namely,—
"6. Vehicle and housing loan, The Chairman and the Vice—Chair man. '
shall be entitled to a vehicle/housing loah upto a maximum o f Rupees ten lakhs-
which shall be recoverable from their salary with interest by the Governmenfi
durin g the term of their office as may be prescribed; Provided that if the Chairman or the Vice—Chairman cea ses to hold his
office, the outstanding loan shall be recoverable from thesalary receivable ass
a Memberand remaining balance, if any, from his p ension."
9. Amendment of section 7.—-In sectioh 7of the principal A ct, for the word
"Chairman" wherever it occurs, the words "the Chairm an or the Vice-Chairman"
shall be substituted.
