Prt>amble. W 11 EREAS it is <>xpedient further 10 am<'nd the Act No,5 of Code of Criminal l'rocedure, 189:1 (hereinafter referred l89B. to as the Co'le) in its application to the State of A·~am, for the purposes and in the manner hereinal ter appear• ing;
It is hereby enacted in the Fifteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

{2) It shall apply to the State of Assam.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
bu1t>.!itu~ion 2. For Section l 3 of the Code, t he following shall b e 0 ~e~tion substituted namely·- 13 ot the ' ' Code.
"13. (l) The State Government may api:0int as many persons as it thinks fit to be Subjivisional Magistrates in any district in the ~tate of Assam.
(2) The State Government, or subject to the con trol of tie S1a1e Govt>rnment, the District Magistrate may place one or nwre Subdivhicmal Magi~trates in charge of a subdivision ,,

( 2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action tal<en undrr the Code of {;rirninal Proce· dure (As.sam Amrndment) Ordir.ance, 1964 shall be det>med to have been done or tdken under this Act as if this Act had commenced on the 1 enth day of Feb ruary , 196' (the date of promulgation of the Ordinance)
