lo amend the Assam Khadi and Village Industries Board Act, 1955.
P ream ble.— Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam Khadi and Village Industries Board Act, 1955 (Assam Act XV I of 1955 ), hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing ;
I t is hereby enacted in the Seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
1. Short title , extent and com m en cem en t.— (1) This Act may be called the Assam Khadi and Village Industries Board ( Amendment) Act, 1956.
(2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. A m endm ent o f section 10 o f A ssam A ct X V I o f 1955.-—For
sub-sections (2) and (3) of section 10 of the principal Act the following shall respectively be substituted, namely :—
“ (2) Every contract shall be made on behalf of the Board, by the Secretary.
(3) Every contract made by the Secretary on behalf of the Board, shall subject to the provisions of this section, be entered into in such manner and orm as may be prescribed.”
