Act further to Amend the A n am Co-opera'ive Societies Act 1949. Preamble Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Co-operative Societies A ct, 1949, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing ; It is hereby enacted in the Forty-first Year of the R e- public o f India as fo llo w s:—
Short title 1. (1) This Act way be called the Assam Cooperative extent and Societies (Amendment) Act, 1990.

(2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.
(3) It «hsll come into force at once. Amendment 2. In the ptincipal Act, in section 32, for the existing clause (a) of sub-section (I), the following shall be sub- Act I of iw o«tituted , namely
"(a )—electing members to the Administrative C ouncil, M anaging body and other Co om ittees of the Society, the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and oth ;r office bearers, as may be provided in the bye-laws, and fixing tuch fees, salaries or other remuneration as prescribed in the bye-laws :
Provided that the State Gove nm ent may prescribe by rules the tenure o f office of the elected members ot the Administrative Council, M anaging body and other Com m i- ttees and also the qualifications necessary f r the office bearers and the em ployees."
