Holdings (Stay of Execution Proceedings) (Tamil Nadu Amendment) Act, 1975*

An Act further to amend the Holdings (Stay of Execution Proceedings) Act, 1950, in its application to the Kanyakumari district.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Twenty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section 1. Short title, extent and commencement

1. Short title, extent and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Holdings (Stay of Execution Proceedings) (Tamil Nadu Amendment) Act, 1975.

(2) It extends to the whole of the Kanyakumari district.

(3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 17th September, 1975.

Section 2. Amendment of section 4, Travancore-Cochin Act VIII of 1950

2. Amendment of section 4, Travancore-Cochin Act VIII of 1950.- In section 4 of the Holdings (Stay of Execution Proceedings) Act, 1950 (Travancore-Cochin Act VIII of 1950), for the words "twenty-five years and six months", the words "twenty-seven years and six months" shall be substituted.
