Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Members (Removal of Disqualifications) (Amendment) Act, 1979*

An Act to amend the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Members (Removal of Disqualifications) Act, 1971 (Act No. 7 of 1971).

It is hereby enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the Himachal Pradesh in the Thirtieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section 1. Short title and commencement

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Members (Removal of Disqualifications) (Amendment) Act, 1979.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

Section 2. Amendment of section 3

2. Amendment of section 3.- In the existing section 3 of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Members (Removal of Disqualifications) Act, 1971 (7 of 1971),-

(i) the sign occurring at the end of clause (r) shall be substituted by the sign ""; and

(ii) after clause (r) so amended, the following clause(s) shall be added namely:-

(s) notwithstanding anything contained in clauses (l) and (m) of this section, the office of member of the Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes appointed by the Government of India."
