THE BIHAR CONTINGENCY FUND (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008
AN
ACT
Preamble:-TO AMEND THE BIHAR CONTINGENCY FUND ACT, 1950 (BIHAR ACT 19 OF
1950)
WHEREAS, the State is in grip of unprecedented disaster; AND, WHEREAS, relief and rehabilitation measures have to be undertaken on an emergent scale; NOW, THEREFORE, be it enacted by the legislature of the State of Bihar in the fiftyninth year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may by called the Bihar Contingency Fund (Amendment) Act, 2008
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section-4 of Bihar Act 19 of 1950.- For the proviso to section-4 of the Bihar Contingency Fund Act, 1950 (Bihar Act 19 of 1950) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) the following proviso shall be substituted, namely :-

"Provided that during the period beginning on the date of commencement of the Bihar Contingency Fund (Amendment) Act,- 2008 and ending on 31 st day of March 2009 this section shall have effect subject to the modification that for the words 'three hundred and fifty crores' shall be substituted by the words 'two thousand five hundred crores'
3. Repeal and savings- (1) The Bihar Contingency Fund (Amendment) ordinance, 2008 (Bihar Ordinance No. 2, 2008) is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal anything done or any action taken in exercise of any power conferred by, or under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done and taken in exercise of the power conferred by or under this Act as if this Act were enforce on the day on which such things was done or action taken.
