Assam Speaker's Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act, 2003*

An Act further to amend the Assam Speaker's Salaries and Allowances ACT, 1958.
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Speaker's Salaries and Allowances Act, 1958 (Assam Act, XXV of 1958), hereinafter referred to the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing;
It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-fourth Year of the Republic of India, as follows:-
Section 1
1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Speaker's Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act, 2003.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the first day of April, 2003.
Section 2. Amendment of Section 2 of Assam Act, XXV of 1958
2. Amendment of Section 2 of Assam Act, XXV of 1958.- In the principal Act, in Section 2, for the existing clause (iii), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"(iii) a Daily Allowance of three hundred rupees while on official tour and its halt within the State of Assam:
Provided that the Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly shall be entitled to five hundred rupees whenever the Speaker performs the official duties outside the State of Assam and its halt;"
