Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayukta (Amendment) Act, 1987*

An Act to amend the Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayukta Act, 1983.

Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Thirty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section 1. Short title and commencement

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayukta (Amendment) Act, 1987.

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st April, 1986.

Section 2. Amendment of section 5

2. Amendment of section 5.- In the Andhra Pradesh Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayukta Act, 1983 (Act 11 of 1983) (hereinafter referred to as the principal in section 5, for sub-section (4), the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely:-

"(4) The salary payable to the Loksyukta or Upa-Lokayukta in respect of time spent of actual service shall respectively be the same as that of the Chief Justice or a Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh".

Section 3. Omission of Second Schedule

3. Omission of Second Schedule.- In the principal Act, Second Schedule shall he omitted.
