An Act to continue the existing rates of income-tax for the financial year 1996-97

Be it enacted by Parliament in the Forty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:

Section 1. Short title and commencement

(1) This Act may be called the Finance Act, 1996.

(2) It shall come into force on the 1st day of April, 1996.

Section 2. Income-tax

2 [Repealed]

1. Received the assent of the President on 27-3-1996 and published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 1, dated 27-3-1996, pp. 1-5, No. 30.

2. Repealed by Act 33 of 1996, Section 90 and shall be deemed never to have been enacted.
