(Syllabus.)
1. Witnesses — Cross-Examination of Defendant as to Former Conviction. A defendant, who takes the witness stand in his own behalf, may on cross-examination be asked if he has been convicted and served a sentence prior to this time, for the purpose of affecting his credibility as a witness.
2. Pardon — Powers of Governor. The law has placed the pardon and parole power in the hands of the Governor of this state. When deemed proper, these instrumentalities of the law may be used to the end that justice be done.
3. Burglary — Conviction Sustained. Evidence examined, and found sufficient to uphold the verdict of guilty rendered in this case. It does not appear to have been rendered by reason of passion and prejudice.
