An Act further to amend the Himachal Pradesh Universities of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry Act, 1986 (Act No. 4 of 1987).
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Himachal Pradesh in the Fortieth Year of the Republic of India, as follows:-
Section 1. Short title
1. Short title.- This Act may be called the Himachal Pradesh Universities of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry (Amendment) Act, 1989.
Section 2. Amendment of section 11
2. Amendment of section 11.- After the word and sign comma "Agriculture" occurring in item (vii) of Part (A) of sub-section (1) of section 11 of the Himachal Pradesh Universities of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry Act, 1986 (4 of 1987) (hereinafter called the principal Act), the word and sign comma "Horticulture," shall be inserted.
Section 3. Amendment of section 12
3. Amendment of section 12.- In section 12 of the principal Act-
(a) after the word and sign comma "Agriculture," occurring in item (vii) of Part (A) of sub-section (1), the word and sign comma "Horticulture," shall be inserted; and
(b) for sub-section (6), the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely:-
"(6) One-third of the members of the Board shall form quorum for a meeting of the Board:
Provided that if a meeting of the Board is adjourned for want of quorum, no quorum shall be necessary at the next meeting for the transaction of the same business."
Section 4. Amendment of section 25
4. Amendment of section 25.- The words "and balance-sheet" occurring in sub-section (6) of section 25 of the principal Act, shall be omitted.
