Year of the Republic of India, as follows :—
1. (1) This? Act may be called thev'Manipur Town and Country Shortfitle
Flaming (Second'Amendment) Act; 1976. $233
(2) It Shall come'into force at once.
2. In this Act, 'Principal Act' means the Manipur Town and Definition. Country Planning Act, 1975.

4. (1) The existing provisions of Sectio n 11 of the Principal Act Amé'ndmm shall be numbered as subsection (1). - ?€.Sectlon

5. After sub—section (1) of Section 18 of the Principal Act, the following sub-'section (1A) shall be added :—
"(1A) The Authority shat! have the power to execute Public Housing Projects and to dispose of the houses so con- swucted on terms and conditions approved by the State Government."
6. (1) In sub-section (2) of Section 18 of the Principal Act the words "the utiliSatxon of" shall be deleted.
(2) A new proviso shall be added to sub—sectiou (2.) of Section 18 of the Principal Act namely :——
"Provided further that if in the opinion of the State Government, any State Khas lands can be more appro- priately used by "the State Government it may exempt such Khaslands from the provision of this sub-section."
7. In subsection (5) of Section 29 of the Principal Act the figure
"27" shall be substituted by the figure "26."
8. (1) The provisos to sub—section (2) of Section 33 of the Principal Act shall be deleted and the words, "Chief Town Planner" shall be substituted by the words "State Government" in the remaining por- tion of the sub—section.
(2) The following provisos shall be added after sub-Section (2) of Section 33 of the Principal Act :—- ' V
"Provided that in case the State Government approves the modification, it shall cause the modification to be published in the Oflicial Gazette by the Chief Town Planner, in the prescribed manner ;
Provided further that in case the State Government approves of the Withdrawal, it shall cause the fact to be notified , in the Ofiicial Gazette by the Chief Town Planner."
9. In the proviso to sub-section (2) of Section 34 of the Principal Act the figure "88" shall be substituted by the figure "28."
10. In Section 44 of the Principal Act the figure "41" shall be Substituted by the figure "43". '
1.1. Sectzou 46 of the Principai Act shall be deleted.
12. (1) A new sub-Section shall be added to Section 73 of the Principal Act namely :- -
«(1) No Court inferior to the court of a Judicial Magistrate lst Class shall take Cognizance of an offence under this Act."

(2) The existing provisions of Section 73 'of the Principal A5; shall be numbered subsection (2).
