further to amend the Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council Act, 2005. Preamble VVhereas it is expedient further to amend the Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council Act
2005, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing;
It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-eighth
Year of the Republic of India as foIlows:-

Short title, extent and commencement. Amendment of
Section 9.
1. (1) This Act may be called the Sonowa1 Kachari Autonomous Council (Amendment) Act, 2017.
(2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.
(3) Itshall come into force at once.
2. In the principal Act, in section 9, in sub-section(1),for the words "a majority" appearing in between the words"carried by" and" of the", the words" two-third majority" shall be substituted.
