to e.merza the Bengal Public Demands Recovery Act, 1913
Preamble WHEREAS it IS expedient to amend the Ber.gal Bengal Act Public Demand:. Recovery Act, 1913, hereinalter refer- HI ol i9l3. red to as the principal Act in its application to the

State of Assam for the purpose and in the manner hereinafter appearing ;
It is hereby enacted in the Thirteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows :-
1. (1) Thi~ Act may be called the Bengal Public Demands Recovery (Assam Amendment) Act, 196~ .
(2) It extends to the whole of Assam.
(3) It shall come into force at once.

or to an officer of the Government in payment of a loan m cash or in kind, in respect of which money, the person to whom the loan in cash or in kind was advanced, has agreed by written instrument that such moni:y shall be recoverable as a public d~mand!'
3. The provisions of the principal Act shall C!-pply to all loans issued before coming into force of this amending Act, if the instrument granting the loan contained a provision that the money would be reco· verable as a public demand, and if the instrument is &till in force, as if on the date the said instrument was executed the principal Aq was am~nde~l. 11s herein t)rovided,
