to extend the provisions oj the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1938 to Autonomous
Districts.
Pre am bl e.—Whereas the Crimina l Law Am end ment Act 1938 (Act
X X of 1938) is not in force in the A utonomous Dis tric ts ;
And whereas it is e xpe dient to bring the provis ions of the said Act into
force in the said Dist ricts ;
It is hereby ena cted in the Six th Year of the Re pu bl ic of In di a as
fol low s:—
1. Short t it le , ex ten t and co m m en ce m en t.—(1) This Act may be
called the Crimina l Law Am end ment (Extension to Autonom ous Districts)
Act, 1955
(2) It extends to the Autonom ous D istri cts in the Sta te of Assam.
(3) It shal l come into force at once.
2. Ap plica tio n o f t he A ct X X o f 1938 to Au tono mou s D is tr ic ts .—
All the provisions of the Crimin al Law Am end ment Act 1938 (Act X X of
1938) shall app ly to the Autonomou s Dis tiict s in the State of Assam.
