(Bihar Act 9, 2018) Bihar Technical Staff Selection Commission (Amendment) Act, 2018
AN
ACT
to amend The Bihar Technical Staff Selection Commission Act, 2014 (Bihar Act 13, 2014) Preamble:-
WHEREAS, According to section-08 of Bihar Technical Staff Selection Commission Act, 2014, The Bihar Technical Staff Selection Commission has to select and recommend for appointment to the Technical Services/Cadres/ Posts of Group 'B' and 'C' of grade pay less than, Rupees 4800/-or corresponding grade pay revised from time to time in different departments and regional offices of the State Government.
AND WHEREAS, the process of selection and recommendation for the technical posts of the State Government such as Assistant Engineer, Doctor and Veterinary Doctor is presently done by the Bihar Public Service Commission;
AND WHEREAS, it is presumed that the process of selection and recommendation for the above said posts will be executed with speed and convenience by The Bihar Technical Staff Selection Commission;
AND WHEREAS, amendment in the said Act is necessary for making provision for procedure of selection and recommendation on the technical post of grade pay 4800/- and above of the State Government also by the Bihar Technical Staff Selection Commission; AND WHEREAS, after aforesaid amendment, procedure for selection and recommendation for appointment on the referred technical post of grade pay 4800/- and above of the State Government shall be done by the "Bihar Technical Staff Selection Commission", in this circumstance it is necessary to name it as "Bihar Technical Service Commission" after amending the said Act by substituting the word "Service" for "Staff" and "Selection" used in the name of the Commission.
NOW THEREFORE, Be it enacted by the legislature of the State of Bihar in the Sixty Ninth year of republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title, Extent and Commencement.— (1) This Act may be called The Bihar Technical Staff Selection Commission (amendment) Act, 2018.
(2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Bihar.
(3) It shall come in to force at once.
2. Amendment in the Title, Sub-section-1 of Section-1, Sub-section-(i) of Section-2, Sub-section-(ii) of Section-2, Section-3, Section-10 and in Schedule of the Bihar Act 13, 2014.- The words "Staff" and "Selection" used in "Bihar Technical Staff Selection Commission"
mentioned in the Title, Sub-section-1 of Section-1, Sub-section-(i) of Section-2, Sub-section-(ii) of Section-2, Section-3, Section-10 and in Schedule of the said Act, 2014 shall be substituted by the word "Service".
3. Amendment in Section-8 of Bihar Act 13, 2014.— the word and figures " Grade pay less than Rupees 4800/- (four thousand eight hundred) or corresponding grade pay as revised from time to time" used in section-8 of the said Act, 2014 shall be omitted. By Order of the Governor of Bihar,
