Tamil Nadu Municipal Laws (Second Amendment) Act, 1992*

[Tamil Nadu Act No. 45 of 1992][29th September, 1992]

An Act further to amend the laws relating to the Municipal Corporations and the Municipalities in the State of Tamil Nadu.

Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Forty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

* Received the assent of the Governor on the 29th September, 1992 and published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary, No. 570, dated September 29, 1992.

Section 1. Short title and commencement

PART I

PRELIMINARY

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Municipal Laws (Second Amendment) Act, 1992.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

Section 2. Amendment of section 55-B

PART II

AMENDMENT TO THE MADRAS CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ACT, 1919

2. Amendment of section 55-B.- in sub-section (1) of 55-B of the Madras City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919 (Tamil Nadu Act ??? of 1919), for the expression "30th day of September, 1992" the expression "30th day of September, 1993" shall be substituted.

Section 3. Amendment of section 62A

AMENDMENT TO THE MADURAI CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ACT, 1971

3. Amendment of section 62A.- In sub-section (1) of section 62-A of the Madurai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1971 (Tamil Nadu Act 15 of 1971), for the expression "30th day of September, 1992" the expression "30th day of September, 1993" shall be substituted.

Section 4. Amendment of Schedule VII

AMENDMENT TO THE COIMBATORE CITY MUNICIPAL CORPORATION ACT, 1981

4. Amendment of Schedule VII.- In Schedule VII to the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 2981, in rule 4, in sub-rule (a), for the expression "30th day of September, 1992" the expression "30th day of September, 1993" shall be substituted.

Section 5. Amendment of section 4

AMENDMENT TO THE TAMIL NADU DISTRICT MUNICIPALITIES (SECOND AMENDMENT AND SPECIAL PROVISIONS) ACT, 1990

5. Amendment of section 4.- In clause (a) of sub-section (3) of section 4 of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities (Second Amendment and Special Provisions) Act, 1990, for the expression "30th day of September, 1992", the expression "30th day of September, 1993" shall be substituted.

Section 6. Amendment of section 3

AMENDMENT TO THE TAMIL NADU MUNICIPAL COUNCILS (APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL OFFICERS) ACT, 1991

6. Amendment of section 3.- In clause (a) of sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Municipal Councils (Appointment of Special Officers) Act), 1891 (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1991), for the expression "30th day of September, 1992", the expression "30th day of September, 1999" shall be substituted.
