An Act Further to Amend the Tamil Nadu Hackney Carriage Act, 1911

Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Fiftieth-Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

* Received the assent of the Governor on the 3th June, 1999 and published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary, No. 455, dated June 4, 1999.

Section 1. Short title and commencement

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Hackney Carriage (Amendment) Act, 1999.

(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint.

Section 2. Amendment of section 3

2. Amendment of section 3.- In section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Hackney Carriage Act, 1911 (Tamil Nadu Act V of 1911), in clause (3), in sub-clause (b), for item (ii), the following item shall be substituted, namely:-

"(ii) is used for the conveyance of any person or for the transport of any goods: and"
