Preamble

*Orissa Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Act, 1997**

An Act further to amened the Orissa Co-operative Societies Act, 1962.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Orissa in the Forty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section 1. Short title, extent and commencement

1. Short title, extent and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Orissa Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Act, 1997.

(2) It shall he deemed to have come into force on the 22nd day of August, 1997.

Section 2. Amendment of section 28

2. Amendment of section 28.- In the Orissa Co-operative ??? Act, 1962 (Orissa Act 2 of 1963), in section 28, in sub-clause (iv) of clause (g) of sub-section (2), for the words "ten months", the words "nineteen months" shall be substituted.

Section 3. Repeal and Saving

3. Repeal and Saving.- (1) the Orissa Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Ordinance, 1997 (Orissa Ordinance No. 3 of 1997) is hereby repealed.

(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the Principal Act, as amended by the said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act as amended by this Act.
