An Act to amend the Nagaland Village Council Act, 1978 (Nagaland Act No. 1 of 1979)
Whereas it is considered expedient to provide for involvement of Village Councils in the Electricity Management System in the Villages;
It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-third year of the Republic of India, as follows.
Section 1. Short title and commencement
1. Short title and commencement.-
(i) This act may be called the Nagaland Village Council (third Amendment) Act, 2002.
(ii) It extends to the whole of Nagaland.
(iii) It shall come into force with immediate effect.
Section 2. Amendment of Section 12
2. Amendment of Section 12.- In Clause (1) of Section 12 of the Principal Act, the word.
‘power’ shall be inserted after the word ‘roads’ and before the word ‘forest’.
