An Act further to amend the Madras City Police Act, 1888

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Thirtieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section 1. Short title and commencement

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Madras City Police (Amendment) Act, 1979.

(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint.

Section 2. Amendment of section 77, Tamil Nadu Act III of 1888

2. Amendment of section 77, Tamil Nadu Act III of 1888.- In section 77 of the Madras City Police Act, 1888 (Tamil Nadu Act III of 1888), for the words "twenty rupees", the words "seventy-five rupees" shall be substituted.
