Preamble

An Act further to amend the Cotton Transport Act, 1923, in its application to the 3[State of Tamil Nadu].

Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Cotton Transport Act, 1923 (Central Act III of 1923.), in its application to the 3[State of Tamil Nadu], for the purpose hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted as follows:-

Section 1. Short title and extent

1. Short title and extent.- (1) This Act may be called the Cotton Transport (1[Tamil Nadu] Amendment) Act, 1948.

(2) It extends to the whole of the 4[State of Tamil Nadu].

Section 2. Amendment of section 7, Central Act III of 1923

2. Amendment of section 7, Central Act III of 1923.- In section 7, sub-section (2), of the Cotton Transport Act, 1923 (Central Act III of 1923.), for the words "five hundred rupees", the words "ten thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
