An Act further to amend the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women Act, 2002 (Act No. 4 of 2002)
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh in the Fifty sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Section 1. Short title and commencement
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (Amendment) Act, 2005.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
Section 2. Amendment of Section 2(3)
2. Amendment of Section 2(3).- In the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women Act, 2002 (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act), sub-section (3) of section 2, shall be substituted by the following definition:
"(3) "Member" means a member of the Commission and include the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and Members Secretary".
Section 3. Amendment of Section 5(1)
3. Amendment of Section 5(1).- In the Principal Act, in sub-section (1) of section 5, the words "Chairperson, a Member Secretary and not more than three other members to be appointed by the Government of whom all the other three members shall be APST women" occurring in the last three lines shall be substituted by the words "Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, a Member Secretary and not more than seven other members to be appointed by the Government of whom all the other seven members shall be APST women."
Section 4. Amendment of Section 7
4. Amendment of Section 7.- In section 7 of the Principal Act, for the figure and word "3 (three)" the figure and word "6 (six)" shall be substituted.
