An Act Further to Amend the Andhra Pradesh Public Libraries Act, 1960

Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Forty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

1 The following Act of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly received the assent of the Governor, on the 26th October, 1990, and the said assent is hereby first published on the 27th October, 1990 in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette for general, information:

Section 1. Short title

1. Short title.- This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Public Libraries (Amendment) Act, 1990.

Section 2. Amendment of section ???

2. Amendment of section ???.- In the Andhra Pradesh Public Libraries Act, 1960 (Act VIII of 1950) hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 7, for sub-section (2), the following shall be substituted, namely:-

"(2) The Chairman and every member of the Parishad, other, than the ex-officio Member, shall hold office during the pleasure of the Governor".

Section 3. Amendment of Section 7B

3. Amendment of Section 7B.- In section 7B of the principal hat, the words "before the expiration of the term" and the words and the parsons so nominated shall hold office for the residue of the term of his predecessor shall be omitted.

Section 4. Amendment of Section 11

4. Amendment of Section 11.-in section 11, of the principal Act,-

(i) in sub-section (1), for the words "for a period of three yeas from the date of his nomination", the words "during the pleasure of the Governor" shall be substituted;

(ii) in sub-section, (3) for the words "the terra of Office of the Chairman of a Zilla Grandhaiaya Samstha shall be three years from the date of his nomination as Chairman", the words "the Chairman of a Zilla Grandhaiaya Samstha shall hold office during the pleasure of the Governor", shall be substituted.

Section 5. Amendment of Section 11A

5. Amendment of Section 11A.- In section 11A of the principal Act in the proviso to sub-section (2), for the words "during his term of office", the words "during the period he holds office", shall be substituted.

Section 6. Amendment of Section 12A

6. Amendment of Section 12A.- In section 12A of the principal Act, for the word "Committee", wherever it occurs the word "Parishad" shall be substituted.
