Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Act, 1998*

An Act Further to Amend the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies Act, 1964.
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Forty-eighth Year of the Republic of India, as follows:-
Section 1. Short title and commencement
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Act, 1998.
(2) It shall come into fores on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint.
Section 2. Amendment of Section 19
2. Amendment of Section 19.- In the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies Act, 1964 (Act 7 of 1964) in section 19 in sub-section (1),-
(i) in clause (b),-
(a) for the words "under this Act", the words, "under this Act or the Andhra Pradesh Mutually Aided Co-operative Societies Act, 1995 (Act 30 of 1995)", shall be substituted;
(b) after clause (b), the following shall be inserted, namely:-
"Provided that the Co-operative Society registered under the Andhra Pradesh Mutually Aided Co-operative Societies Act, 1995 which were admitted into Central, Apex Level Co-operative Societies, shall not be entitled for voting rights.".
(ii) The existing explanation shall be numbered as Explanation-1 and after the Explanation-I as so re-numbered, the following Explanation-II shall be added, namely:-
"Explanation-II:- For removal of any doubts, it is hereby declared that Mutually Aided Co-operative Society registered or deemed to be registered wider the Andhra Pradesh Mutually Aided Co-operative Societies Act, 1995 shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of a member of a society except voting rights under the provisions of this Act on admission as such member.".
