An Act to amend the Government Savings Banks Act, 1873

Whereas it is expedient to amend the Government Savings Banks Act, 5 of 1873; It is hereby enacted as follows:-

Section 1. Short title

1. Short title.-This Act may be called the Government Savings Banks (Amendment) Act, 1917.

Section 2. Amendment of Sections 4 and 8, Act 5 of 1873

2. Amendment of Sections 4 and 8, Act 5 of 1873.-In Section 4 and Section 8 of the Government Savings Banks Act, 1873, for the words "one thousand-rupees" the words "three thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
