a. This chapter shall be known and may be cited as "volunteer firefighters' benefit law".
b. Reference in this chapter or in any other law to the volunteer firemen's benefit law shall be deemed to mean and refer to the volunteer firefighters' benefit law. The terms "volunteer fireman" or "volunteer firemen" appearing in this chapter shall be deemed to mean "volunteer firefighter" or "volunteer firefighters," respectively. The terms "he," "his," or "him," appearing in this chapter shall be deemed to mean "he or she," "his or her," and "him or her."
