ACT
to provide for the abolition of whippinng asa punishment and to amend the existing State Laws for this purpose. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as f ollows
1. This Act may be called the: Punjab Abolition Short title. of Whipping Act, 1957.
2. (1) The punishment of whipping as provided Abolition in any law with respect to any ofthe matters specified in the State and Concurrent Lists of the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution of India is hereby abolished. Abolition of
