An Act further to extend the ope'ration of the Bengal Non- Agricultural Tenancy (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1940.
WHEREAS it is expedient further to extend -the operation - of the Bengal Non-Agricultural Tenancy (Temporary Provi- sions) Act, 1940;
It is hereby enacted as follows:— .
1. This Act may be called the Bengal Non-Agricultural Short title. Tenancy (Temporary Provisions) Extending Act, 1947.
2. In sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Bengal Non- Amend- Agricultural Tenancy (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1940, for ment of
=ion 1 the words "five years" for which the words "seven years" -Act IX o f have been substituted by section 2 of the Bengal Non-Agri-
cultural Tenancy (Temporary Provisions) Amendilient Act, 1940. 1945, the words "eight years" shall be substituted.
3. Section 2 •of the Bengal Non-Agricultural Tenancy Repeal of (Temporary Provisions) Amendment Act, 1945, is hereby 2 of
