The Mizoram Salaries and Allowances of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker (Amendment) Act, 1991.

AN
ACT
further to amend the salaries and allowances of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Mizoram.
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of the Mizoram in the Forty Second year of the Republic of India, as follows :
1. (1) This Act may be called by the Mizoram Salaries and Allowances of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker (Amendment) Act, 1991.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the First of April.
1991.
2. In the Mizoram Salaries and Allowances of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker Act, 1987 (Act No. 4 of 1987), as amended (hereinafter refferred to as the principal Act) in section 3, for the words "the Speaker, a salary of two thousand five hundred rupees per mensem and the Deputy Speaker a salary of two thousand rupees per mensem," "the words" the Speaker, a salary of two thousand seven hundred fifty rupees per mensem and to the Deputy Speaker a salary of two thousand two hundred and fifty rupees per mensem"
shall be substituted.

3. In the principal Act, in section 4, for the eords "sumptuary allowance of one thou- sand two hundred fifty rupees per mensem, family alowance of three hundred rupees per mensem and entertainment allowance of seven hundred rupees per mensem" the words,
"sumptuary allowance of two thousand seven hundred fifty rupees per mensem, family, allownace of two thousand rupees per mensem and entertainment allowance of one thou- sand rupees per mensem shall be substituted.
4. In the principal Act, in section 5, for the words "rental charges at a flat rate of five thousand rupees per mensem, the words "rental charges shall not be more than six thou- sand rupees per mensem' shal be substituted.
5. In the principal Act, after section 6, the following new section shall be inserted, namely:
6A. Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act and subject to the provisions of the Schedule, the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker shall be entitled to free travelling by First Class train upto 20.000 Kilometres or by Air two times in five years term within India, with family upto 5 members.
6. In the principal Act, in the Schedule, -
(i) in clause 1, for the words" "daily allowance at the Maximum rates applicable to first grade officer of the Government of Mizoram", the words "daily allowance at the rate of Rs. 175/-per day (No separate sitting and daily allowance)" shall be substituted.
(ii) in clause 2, for the words "travelling allowance on the maximum rates for the time being admissible to 1st grade officer of the Government of Mizoram, the words trav- elling allowance at the rate of Rs. 175/- per day be substituted. Dr. H.C. Thanhranga,
