(AMENDMENT) ACT, 1976
1 An A c t fu rthe r to amend the Assam Liq uor Prohibi - tion Act, 1952.
Preamble. Whereas it is exp edient fu rthe r to amend the Assam Liq uor Prohib itio n Act, 1952, here- Art ina fte r called the princi pal Act in the manner I of 1953, hereinaf ter app ear ing ;
It is he reb y enacted in the Tw ent y-seve nth Year of t he Republic of Ind ia as follows :— Short title, 1.

(1) Thi s Act may be Liq uor Prohib itio n
1976.
called the Assam (Amendment) Act,
(2) It sha ll have the like ex ten t as the prin cipal Act.
(3) It sha ll come into force at once. Insertion of
a new section
after Section
3 of the
Assam Act I
of 1953.
2. Af ter Section 3 of the princi pal Act the following sha ll be inserted as Section 3A, na m el y:—
"3A. No persons sha ll —
(1) publish or disp lay adv ert isement of liqu or or of any pre parat ion fit fo r use as into xicatin g liquor, in the News papers, Periodicals, Jou rna ls. Ho ar- dings, Banners, etc., pri nted and pub- lishe d in and from th at area ;
(2) import/p ossess any News paper , Jou rna l, Preriod ical , etc., if they con- tain adv ert isement of liquor or of any pre parat ion fit for use as intoxi- cating liquor."
