Preamble. Whereas it is expedient furth er to amend the Regulation Assam Land and Revenue R egu lation, 1886, herein- alte r called the said Reg ula tion ^in the m ann er herein afte r appear ing ;
It is hereby enacted in the Eleven th Year of the Republ ic of Ind ia as follows ;—
Short titles I. (y) This Act may be called the Assam Land commence- an< ̂Revenue Regu latio n (Amendment) Act, 1960. □teat. (2) It shall have the like app lica tion as the
Assam Land and Revenue Regulat ion, 1886. (3) It shall come into force at once.
Am endm ent of Section 34 of the Re gulat ion I of 1886.
2. In Section 34 of the said Regulat ion , the word “i f” between the words “'be half” and “P ro vided” shall be deleted .
Su bs tituti on 3 p o r Se c tion 156 of the said Reg ula tion the bi6 Olathe following shall be substitu ted, namely Regulat ion I ol “ 156. The Sta te Governm ent may, in making
any rule under this Reg ula tion , provide that a breach of the rule, in add itio n to any other conse quence which would ensue from such, breach, be punishable with fine which may extend to two hun dred rupees , or, when such breach is a continuing breach, to fifty rupees for each day dur ing which such breach continues , or, on convic tion before a Mag istra te, with impr isonmen t which may extend to six months or with fine up to one thou sand * rupees or w ith bo th. ”
