An Act further to continue the Kerala Essential Articles
Control (Temporary Powers) Act, 1961
Preamble.-WHEREAS it is expedient to continue the Kerala
E::.sent1al Articles Control (Temporary Powers) Act, 1961, for a further
period;
BE it enacted in the Thirtieth Year of the Repubhc of ndia as
follows:-
1. Short title.-Th.i~ Act may be called the Kerala Essential
Article~ Control (Temporary Powers) Continuance Act, 1979.
2. Amendment of section l -In sub-section (3} of section
l of the Kerala Essential Articles Control (Temporary Powers) Act,
1961 (3 of 1962) (heremaftcr referred to as tl1e prmc1pal Act), for the
words "seventeen year~", the words "twenty years" ::.h.1ll be
substituted.
3. Repeal and saving.-( l} The Kcrala Essential Article~
Control (Temp •rary Powers) C.:>ntmuancc Ordmance, 1979 (I of 1979),
is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action
taken under the prmc1p.1l Act as amended by the satd Ordmance sh.a.ll
be deemed to have been done or taken under the princ1pal Act as
amended by this Act as if th1s Act had come mto force on the 16th
day of January, 1979.
