The Bihar Municipal (Amendment) Act, 2016 [Bihar Act 16, 2016]
AN
ACT
To amend the Bihar Municipal Act, 2007 (Bihar Act 11, 2007)
Be it enacted by the legislature of the State of Bihar in the sixty seventh year of the Republic of India as follows:—
1. Short title, extent and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Bihar Municipal (Amendment) Act, 2016.
(2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Bihar .
(3) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section-13 of the Bihar Act 11, 2007.—Proviso to Section-13 of the said Act, 2007 shall be substituted by the following:-
"Provided that notwithstanding any thing contained in any other provision of this Act, until the relevant figures for the census of the year 2021 are published, it shall not be necessary for the State Government to re-determine the number of wards on the basis of population of the municipal area ascertained at 2011 Census."
