THE GAUHATI MUNICIPAL CORPORATION
(AMENDMENT) ACT, 1989

Act
further to amend the Gauhati Municipal Corporation Act, 1969 (Assam Act I of 1973).
Preamble, Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Gauhati Municipal Corporation Act, 19b9, here- inafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing.
It is hereby enacted in the Fortieth Year of the Republic of India, as follows:—- ex ten t'and This Act may be called the Gauhati Munici- commence- pal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 1989. rnent,
(ii) It shall have the like extent as the princi- pal Act.
(iii) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the twentyeighth day of April, 1989. Amendment 2. In the principal Act, in Section 425. for the 425 of Ass«m words, "six years and six months" appear- A c tio fi9 7 3 . ingattheend of the second proviso to sub- section (1), the words, ''eight 'years" shall be substituted.
