THE GAUHATI MUNICIPAL CORPORATION
(AMENDMENT) ACT, 1987

Act
further to amend the Gauhati Municipal Corporation Act, 1969 (Assam Act I of 1973).
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Gau- hati Municipal Corporation Act, 1969, hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing :i It is hereby enacted in the Thirty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows :—
Short title, extent and eommence- me nt.
1. (i) This Act may He called the Gauhati Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 1987.
(ii) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.
(iii) It shall b'e deemed to have come into force on the Twenty-eighth day of January, 1987.

second proviso to sub'-section (I), the words "five years and three months" shall be substituted.
Repeal and 3. (i) The Gauhati Municipal Corporation (Amend-
«avings. m e n t) Ordinance, 1987 (Assam Ordinance No. I of 1987) is hereby repealed.
,(ii) Notwithstanding such repeal any order passed, notification issued, anything done or any action taken under the Ordinance so repealed, shall b'e deemed to have Been passed, issued, done or taken under the corresponding provisions of the principal Act as amended 6y this Act. Md. SAADULLAH,
