ACT
further to amend the Registration Act, 1908, in its application to the State of Assam.
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Registration Act, 1908, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in its application to the State of Assam;
It is hereby enacted in the Sixty -fourth Year of the Republic of India as follows:~
1. (1) This Act may be called the Registration (Assam Amendment) Act, 2013~
(2) It extends to the whole of Assam.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
2. In the principal Act, after the existing section 78, the following new section 78A shall be inserted, namely:-

78A. The State Government may, if in its opinion it is necessary in the public interest so to do, by order. published in the Official Gazette, reduce or remit the fees payable in resj)ect of any of the matters enumerated in clauses (a) to (i) of section 78, either generally or for any particular class of cases and in respect of pe~ . .generally or of any particular class or classes of persons, or in respect of any particular class or classes of instruments."
