Preamble. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Re Assam Forest Regulation, 1891, hereinafter called the Regulation, in the manner hereinafter appearing ; 1981.
It is hereby enacted in the Twenty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows :—
Short title, 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Forest comme n t Regulation (Amendment) Act, 1971. ment.
(2) It shall have the like extent as the Regulation.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
S Section 72 of the Regulation, for clause (c) 72 of Assam t ^ e following shall be substituted, namely :— Regulation V II of 1891. “ (c) to provide for ejectment of any person
„ who has entered into unauthorised occupation in a Forest Reserve and for the disposal of any crops raised, or any building or other construction erected without authority in Forest Reserves ;
No Civil Court shall exercise jurisdiction in any matter provided for by the rules made under this clause.”
Repeal and 3. (1) The Assam Forest Regulation (Amend- A ssam Saving. ment) Ordinance, 1971 is hereby repealed. Ordinance
V I of 1971 (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything
done or any action taken under the Ordinance as repealed shall be deemed to have been done or taken under this Act as if this Act had commenced on the twenty-fourth day of August, 1971 (date of promulga tion of the Ordinance).
