Preamble

Uttar Pradesh Municipalities Act (Dwitiya Uttaranchal Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 2001*

An Act to further amend the Uttar Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1916 in its application to Uttaranchal.

It is hereby enacted in the fifty second year of the Republic of India as follows:-

* In pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution of India, the Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of the Uttar Pradesh Municipalities Act (Dwitiya Uttaranchal Sanshodhan) Bill, 2001 (Uttaranchal Adhiniyam Sankhya 06 of 2001) as passed by the Uttaranchal Legislative Assembly and assented to by the Governor on May 08, 2001.

Section 1. Short title and extent

1. Short title and extent.- (1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh Municipalities Act (Dwitiya Uttaranchal Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 2001.

(2) It extents to the whole of Uttaranchal.

(3) It shall come into force on June 11, 2001.

Section 2. Amendment of the second proviso of clause (c) of section 10-AA of U.P. Act No. 2 of 1916

2. Amendment of the second proviso of clause (c) of section 10-AA of U.P. Act No. 2 of 1916.- After clause (c) of Section 10-AA of the Uttar Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1916 the Second Proviso of the said Section shall be substituted as under, namely:-

"Provided further that the Administrator appointed under this section shall have a term till March 31, 2002 or till the new Municipal Council/Nagar Panchayat is constituted, whichever is earlier."
